GlobalLink 520
We believe that having insight into your installation is a key factor in maintaining and operating your off-grid energy solutions. Off-grid should not mean off-line, so we have created the GlobalLink 520. This device will bring 4G LTE-M connectivity to all VE.Direct enabled devices without any monthly fees or subscriptions, for the first five years.
Having insight into your installation is a key factor in maintaining and operating your off-grid energy solutions. Off-grid should not mean off-line, so Victron Energy have created the GlobalLink 520. This device will bring 4G LTE-M connectivity to two VE.Direct enabled devices without any monthly fees or subscriptions, for the first five years to upload the data to the Victron VRM portal.
Easy system monitoring & control
The GlobalLink 520 comes with two VE.Direct ports which allows you to connect up to two VE.Direct devices such as a BMV Battery Monitor and/or a MPPT Solar Charge Controller directly to the VRM portal. With two digital inputs that also act as pulse counters and a remote controllable relay, it’s a perfect solution to monitor and control your installation.
Victron Remote Management (VRM)
The online Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal provides you with access to your installation, from anywhere, at any time. In VRM you can check the status of your connected products, view detailed history graphs of your energy, generate detailed analytical reports, and even configure automatic alarms in case something goes wrong.
Global connectivity with 4G LTE-M
LTE-M is the abbreviation for LTE Cat-M1 or Long Term Evolution (4G), category M1. This cellular technology is designed to connect Internet of Things (IoT) devices to existing 4G towers while using low energy. LTE-M does support handovers and roaming so it is possible to use this device in a moving vehicle like a campervan. Your purchase includes 5 years of connectivity, so there is no need to worry about purchasing a separate data bundle and SIM-card.
The cellular provider of the included SIM card is ‘1nce’. Their global network of operators is constantly expanding and you can check LTE-M coverage for your area here: https://1nce/en/coverage/.
Antenna built in
The GlobalLink 520 comes with a built-in antenna that is designed to work all around the globe. However if you require better reception or want to install your module in a utility van for example, it is also possible to mount an external antenna via the SMA connector.
